Owl Pyjama Case Pattern Now Available to Buy

Hello,  how are you?  I am fine thank you :)  It has been a very busy few months with the lots of exciting things happening.

I have received a lot of requests for my Owl Pyjama Case Pattern, some of you especially those overseas have been difficulties getting a back issue of the magazine it was originally featured in.  But fear not…. This cute little chap is worked mostly in one piece to cut down on sewing up.  The colour work is knitted using slip stitches so no complicated stranded knitting to contend with.  If you are new to this type of colour work, fear not it is really simple and instructions are included in the pattern.

Christmas Glamour Knits gets some balls

Christmas Glamour Knits are my best selling pattern by far,  all year round I sell these little Christmas knits across the globe.  I have been a busy bee adding a couple of new patterns to this collection, so you can add to yours.

New for this year are two pattern leaflets…

The aptly titled Christmas Glamour Bauble pattern (I know where did I come up with that name, right?)

 

This is knitted in the round on double pointed needles, with a small stranded colour work section (which is worked from a chart).  If you are new to stranded colour work this is the project for you to dip your toe into the stranded knitting pool so to speak (because there is only a small section of colour work).  The pattern includes as always full written instructions and video links to tutorials to get you started with any new techniques or offer a refresher should you need one.

 

Finally, a couple of small balls (too easy?)  Christmas Glamour Mini Baubles

This pair are tiny, measuring a mere 11cm in circumference, you will be able to make these in no time at all.  The beaded bauble uses a crochet hook to apply the beads.  There is both written and video instructions for this technique.  I can not recommend learning this skill enough, no more threading hundreds of beads onto your yarn!

Christmas Glamour Knitting Patterns has a new sugar loaded colour palette

Everybody likes a sweetie or seven at Christmas, don’t they?

This year I decided that I would rework my Christmas Glamour patterns range in a sugar loaded colour palette.  I have chosen to use the gorgeous 4ply merino yarn from Wendy.

If you would like to make some of these cute Christmas treats, you will need a ball of each of the following yarns:

• Wendy Merino 4ply Seapray shade 2380
• Wendy Merino 4ply Birch shade 2365
• Peter Pan 4ply Sugar Plum shade 909

Monty the Penguin

 

Have you fallen in love with this little chap?

Monty the Penguin has captured the hearts of the nation already this Christmas.  I find penguins captivating, with their huge personalities and comedic ways, what is not to love?  Last year I designed a penguin hat with a bit of a twist.

This cute Penguin hat can be customised to suit your taste in just three steps. The pattern includes a choice of earflap and mini top hat styles, simply follow the steps to make your hat, your way! Six variations of this hat are included in the pattern.

The hat is worked flat and includes an intarsia chart for the face.

To fit head circumference
xsmall (41cm) small (46cm) medium (51cm)

The yarn requirements are:

One 50g ball of DK weight year in the following colours; black, white, red and gold.  The sample is knitted using
Rowan Pure Wool DK, (A) shade 004 Black, (B) shade 012 Snow, (C) shade 051 Gold, (D) shade 036 Kiss, one 50g ball of each

Where the heart is

Another summer weekend, another summer festival, and as Jane and I enjoy watching ‘The Pixies’ live at T in the Park, we both have a sense of achievement.

Starburst Bracelet Advanced Loom skillz!

Firstly, I have completed my second loom band. The first basic, the second an ‘advanced’ Starburst Bracelet! Katie was relieved, I think I may have annoyed her with my failed attempts, but the final result was somewhat fantastic (I say so myself, and that’s all!).

Perhaps more importantly, Jane has responded to her fans and published one of her own patterns for sale.

Home is ‘Where the heart is‘, and so this lovely faux fair isle cushion cover will make a charming addition to anyone’s home

Introducing Little by Little Hat Pattern

I have another new release in my Ravelry Pattern Store meet, ‘Little by Little’.

Worked on size 6.5mm needles using James C Brett, Marble Chunky, this is a super quick knit!  With a small lace panel, this is the perfect project for dipping your toe into lace knitting. ‘Little by Little’ you will help develop your new skills as you work this quick and easy beret.

This hat will look great in any variegated or self striping yarn, why not try Rico Design Creative Galaxy Chunky?

Introducing Acquiesce

Allow me to introduce ‘Acquiesce’; she may look complex but I will let you into a little secret. It is a great project for cable beginners!  ‘Acquiesce’ is available to download from my Ravelry Store.

The all over cable fabric is worked in the round using only two basic cable stitches.

The pattern is charted and includes, as always in my patterns, links to handy tutorial videos to get you knitting with confidence.

James C Brett Pure Merino Wool DK has great stitch definition and comes in a range of beautiful shades. Other yarns that I would recommend are Rowan Pure Silk Merino or if you feel like splashing out why not invest in some Fyberspates Scrumptious DK.

A word of warning though, avoid variegated shades, your beautiful cables will be difficult to see”.
